Softball Game Preview: Richwoods Knights vs. Normal West Wildcats

Richwoods is 0-8 against Normal West since May of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Knights will look to defend their home field against the Wildcats at 10:00 a.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Richwoods is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Bloomington, falling 6-0.

Meanwhile, Normal West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Bloomington.

Normal West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was McKinley Pate, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Normal West's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Richwoods, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
