It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Foundation Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Geneva Knights by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Foundation Academy saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katherine Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Foundation Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Geneva, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.
