Arcbhishop Moeller begins as the team to beat after going 14-2 in 2024.

The high school football season in Ohio kicks off this month and we have your look at the state's top teams. Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati) owns the No. 1 spot in the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25.

The Fighting Crusaders will be led by last year’s MaxPreps Ohio Player of the Year Matt Ponatoski (6-1, 195, Kentucky commitment) returning at quarterback.

Ponatoski and seniors Cooper McCutcheon (6-4, 220, TE, North Carolina), Sam Hamilton (6-4, 230, TE, West Virginia) and Christian Harris (6-1, 290, DT, Wake Forest) lead the way for Archbishop Moeller.

The best player in the state, however, is senior cornerback Victor Singleton of Central Catholic (Toledo). Committed to Texas A&M, Singleton intercepted four passes as a junior.

Defending state champions include Olentangy Liberty (Powell) in Division I, Avon in Division II, Bishop Watterson (Columbus) in Division III, Indian Valley (Gnadenhutten) in Division IV, Ironton in Division V, Coldwater in Division VI and Marion Local (Maria Stein) in Division VII.
