Softball Recap: Olmsted Falls Victorious

Olmsted Falls proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the North Ridgeville Rangers. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 13-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

MOLLY SHEEHAN spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 19 Ks. Those 19 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Olmsted Falls' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was SOPHIA GALARZA, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave GALARZA a new career-high.

Olmsted Falls' win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Olmsted Falls will venture away from home to square off against Elyria at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for North Ridgeville, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-3 victory against Medina on the 29th.
