Basketball Recap: Harding Academy Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Harding Academy entered their tilt with St. George on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the St. George's Gryphons 67-52. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Harding Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chazaiah Curry, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Curry has scored at least a third of Harding Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Fred Martin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Jackson Jones and Carson Crump certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Jones posted 16 points, while Crump had 16 points and six boards. Crump also put up a block, which washis first of the season.

Harding Academy pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. As for St. George's, their record now sits at 9-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Evangelical Christian the next time they take the court. St. George's will host Evangelical Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Harding Academy will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
