Basketball Recap: Justin England's Big Game Can't Quite Lead John Milledge Academy over Stratford Academy

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact John Milledge Academy can now relate to. They took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stratford Academy Eagles on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 423rd, while the Eagles are ranked 208th).

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Justin England, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 13 points. That's the most points England has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Asa Wall, who scored seven points and 11 rebounds.

John Milledge Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Stratford Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

John Milledge Academy has already played their next matchup, a 69-60 loss against Tattnall Square Academy on the 14th. As for Stratford Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-54 defeat against Mount de Sales Academy on the 14th.
