It was a good run, but Mt. Pleasant unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Dow Chargers by a score of 1-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Oilers were not able to get on the board.

Aryan Punjabi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Mt. Pleasant is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise.

Mt. Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Dow, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Coming up, Mt. Pleasant will head out to face off against Grosse Pointe South at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Dow, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alpena on Saturday.
