Soccer Game Preview: Smithson Valley vs. Boerne

The Smithson Valley Rangers will face off against the Boerne Greyhounds at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Smithson Valley is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Alamo Heights on Friday. They lost 3-0 to the Mules. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Rangers couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Boerne entered their tilt with Veterans Memorial on Monday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. Everything went their way against the Patriots as they made off with a 7-1 win. Considering the Greyhounds have won six matches by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Boerne's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Smithson Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
