Softball Recap: DeRidder Takes a Loss

DeRidder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Iowa Yellowjackets, falling 10-3. The Dragons were not able to make up for their loss to the Yellowjackets from their previous meeting back in March of 2023.

DeRidder saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Demi Burks, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

DeRidder's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Iowa, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-4.

Looking ahead, DeRidder will host Zwolle at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Iowa, they are taking a road trip to square off against South Beauregard at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Iowa is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
