Basketball Recap: Dublin Scioto Takes a Loss

Dublin Scioto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to the Big Walnut Golden Eagles at home by a 55-40 margin. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-29 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Dublin Scioto lost, don't look at Niah Smedley. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 boards. Smedley is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played. Callie Smoot was another key player, putting up seven points and six rebounds.

Dublin Scioto's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Big Walnut, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Dublin Scioto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Big Walnut, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-32 victory against Marysville on the 11th.
