Preview: Otsego Knights vs. Maumee Panthers
The Otsego Knights will head out on the road to take on the Maumee Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Otsego is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Otsego suffered their biggest loss since December 9, 2023 on Thursday. Their tough 44-19 defeat to Oak Harbor might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Otsego can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 754th, while Oak Harbor is ranked 329th).
Ryleigh O?brien was Otsego's leading scorer, having posted five points. O?brien held things down on the boards with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Maumee beat Eastwood 40-32 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Maumee.
Otsego's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Maumee, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Otsego came up short against Maumee in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 32-22. Can Otsego avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
