Basketball Recap: Baylor Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Baylor Red Raiders were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 71-65 to the Houston Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Mustangs are ranked ninth).

Baylor now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Houston, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baylor will host Chattanooga Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Houston, they will challenge Arlington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Houston's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.
