Culver Community hadn't done well against Westville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cavaliers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Blackhawks, sneaking past 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cavaliers also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Culver Community took Westville into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-17, 23-25, 25-16, 15-8.

Hayden Lute paced Culver Community's offense, picking up 20 kills. Lute got some help from Chloe Lewis and her 22 assists. Haylie Parker controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

When it comes to explaining why Westville lost, don't look at Lydia Green. Despite the final result, she had 23 digs and one assist. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Bietry, who had 11 digs and two assists.

Culver Community is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. As for Westville, they dropped their record down to 10-15 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Culver Community will welcome Bremen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westville, they will venture away from home to take on Wheeler at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
