Baseball Recap: Norwich Comes Up Short

Norwich was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 28th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Johnson City Wildcats. The Purple Tornado were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Jaxson Francis was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Zack Parker, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Norwich's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Johnson City, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-8.

Coming up, Norwich will challenge Chenango Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Johnson City, they will face off against Union-Endicott at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
