Basketball Recap: Tiverton Sets Scoring Season-High Against East Greenwich

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tiverton). They strolled past the East Greenwich Avengers with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 52-33. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jah'Niece Branch continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 20 points. Sara Poland was another key player, posting nine points and seven rebounds.

Tiverton was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

East Greenwich's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddy Asay, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rowen Carney, who put up nine points.

The win got Tiverton back to even at 3-3. As for East Greenwich, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Tiverton will host Middletown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Middletown's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Tiverton's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for East Greenwich, they will venture away from home to take on Scituate at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Scituate will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something East Greenwich surely won't give up without a fight.
