Basketball Recap: Holly Hill Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Holly Hill Academy won the last time they faced Clarendon Hall, and Jody Gillam did his part to make sure it happened again. The Holly Hill Academy Raiders took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging a 71-43 win over the Clarendon Hall Saints thanks in part to Gillam, who went 13 of 29 on his way to 34 points along with eight boards and five assists. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Holly Hill Academy's points.

With the victory, Holly Hill Academy broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5. As for Clarendon Hall, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Holly Hill Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against Calhoun Academy at 7:15 p.m. Calhoun Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season. As for Clarendon Hall, they will head out to challenge Lee Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
