Volleyball Recap: Mccallum Finds Home Court Redemption Against Akins

There's no place like home for McCallum, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Akins Eagles on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

McCallum never let Akins on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-8, 27-25.

Aaniya Thorton went supernova, getting 12 digs and six aces. Those six aces gave her a new career-high. Sienna Martens also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

McCallum's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Akins, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, McCallum will square off against Madison at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Akins, they will venture away from home to square off against Travis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
