Basketball Recap: Stanton Takes a Loss

Stanton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 58-47 to the Raines Vikings. The Blue Devils lost against the Vikings in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 55-13 score last time.

Darreniza Tobler was her usual excellent self, putting up 26 points for Raines. That makes it four consecutive games in which Tobler has scored at least a third of Raines' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiffani Thomas, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Stanton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Raines, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Stanton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 76-49 loss against ED White on the 17th. As for Raines, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-36 win against Westside on the 17th.
