Basketball Recap: Foard Comes Up Short

Foard played a tough matchup on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 61-17 defeat at the hands of the Maiden Blue Devils. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-10.

Foard lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jessica Bailey, who posted 12 points. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.

Leading Maiden to victory were Khiara Culliver and Ava Anderson. Culliver made all 9 shots she took to post 18 points, while Anderson shot 50% from the field on her way to 15 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Willow Bass, who put up nine points and four steals.

Foard's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Maiden, they pushed their record up to 21-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Foard wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-31 defeat against North Lincoln on the 13th. As for Maiden, they have also already played their next game, a 59-23 victory against Newton-Conover on the 13th.
