Sherman had won 11 straight home games dating back to last season and Emma Russell did her part to make it 12 on Thursday. The Tide were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders thanks in part to Russell, who had five digs and three aces. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 15 or more assists the last 12 times she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Sherman was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-8, 25-12.

Sherman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Audrina Smith, who had 11 digs.

Sherman's victory bumped their record up to 23-8-1. As for Greater Beckley Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-19-1 record this season.
