Jamarion Pegues Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Starting off the list is Oxford's Jamarion Pegues, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Pegues rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (121.7) per game. Those 190 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Oxford moved to 2-4 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. Pegues will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on DeSoto Central on Friday.

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Eric Perry stepped things up a notch to give DeSoto Central the 'W'. Nobody could stop Perry as he rushed for 128 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.

Perry is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Oxford on Friday. When Perry last faced the Chargers back in October of 2023, he rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes.

Drew Dean Turns in Season-Best Effort

Drew Dean produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Oxford to the win on Friday. Dean threw for 147 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown.

Jason Edwards Jr Delivers Best Performance of Season

Horn Lake moved to 5-2 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. Edwards Jr and Horn Lake will take on Hernando at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lenden Fairley Has Career Rushing Day

Lenden Fairley produced his most outstanding game to date while leading DeSoto Central to the win on Friday. Fairley rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 65 yards.

For the year, Fairley has run in 5 touchdowns while averaging 85.8 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one rushing touchdown.
