Basketball Recap: Arroyo Beats Tennyson for Their Third Straight Win

Arroyo had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 56-51 W against the Tennyson Lancers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-33 back in January.

Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matthew Lorje, who posted 14 points and three steals. What's more, Lorje also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was James Walker, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Arroyo's win bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Tennyson, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-18.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arroyo will face off against San Lorenzo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tennyson, they are taking a road trip to challenge Encinal at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tennyson is facing Encinal at the right time seeing as Encinal is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
