Burges hadn't beaten Canutillo on the road since April 19, 2016 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. Burges came out on top against Canutillo by a score of 9-6. The win was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brandon Alcala was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adan Zavala, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-9-2. As for Canutillo, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Burges is set to challenge their familiar foe Andress at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Canutillo will face off against rival Chapin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
