Basketball Recap: Walnut Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Walnut kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 68-55 to the Nettleton Tigers. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, Walnut still got an impressive performance from Logan Wilbanks, who shot 42% from the field en route to 29 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Cardwell, who posted 11 points.

Nettleton now has a winning record of 2-1.

Walnut didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-36 loss against Mooreville on the 14th. As for Nettleton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 63-40 win against Vardaman on the 14th.
