Avery Smith posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Thursday. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best she's had all season long. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
