Baseball Recap: Archbishop Alter Comes Up Short

Archbishop Alter's last matchup with Bishop Fenwick could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Friday. The Knights lost 15-5 to the Falcons. The Knights' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it ten in a row.

Archbishop Alter got a good showing from Owen Thompson, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

At the plate, Will Hooper and Thomas Drake stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hooper got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Drake went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Hooper has become a key player for Archbishop Alter: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Thomas Sciarretti, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

Archbishop Alter's record now sits at 6-15. As for Bishop Fenwick, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.
