Basketball Recap: South Gray's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

South Gray entered their matchup against Kiowa County on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The contest between the South Gray Rebels and the Kiowa County Mavericks didn't end well, with the South Gray Rebels falling 72-58. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mavericks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

South Gray's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for Kiowa County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

South Gray and Kiowa County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings. South Gray (ranked 66th) will meet Minneola (ranked 209th) on Friday. Meanwhile, Kiowa County will take on Kinsley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 222 places (83 vs. 305).
