Softball Recap: Southwood Takes a Loss

Southwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 17-13 to the Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Cadets.

Gracie Lambert was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Izzy Ashba, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Southwood's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, they moved to 4-14 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Southwood will head out on the road to challenge Maconaquah at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Braves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.31 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, they will square off against Fort Wayne South Side at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
