Baseball Game Preview: Davenport Wolves vs. Wimberley Texans

For the second straight game, Davenport will face off against Wimberley. The Wolves will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Texans at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Davenport 3, Wimberley 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Davenport is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Wimberley just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Texans by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Wolves couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Wimberley's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Hall, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Wimberley is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Davenport, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-5-2.
