Baseball Game Preview: Alameda Hornets vs. Castro Valley Trojans

Alameda and Castro Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Hornets will be playing at home against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Alameda is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Newark Memorial on Saturday as they made off with a 9-1 victory. The Hornets not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9, 2024 (when they won 9-1).

Meanwhile, Castro Valley owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They skirted past Encinal 2-0. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by exactly two runs.

Castro Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arthur Sims, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Castro Valley pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Alameda, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12.
