Baseball Recap: Brooklyn Comes Up Short

Brooklyn had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-7 to make it four. They fell just short of the Euclid Panthers by a score of 9-8. The Hurricanes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 9-8.

Carson Westerhold was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Bentley Cox also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

As for Euclid, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 2-7 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 4, 2025.

On Euclid's side, they let Dylan Bouffard and Anthony Shockey run wild. Bouffard went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI, while Shockey got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Bouffard a new career-high. Milo Baca was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Brooklyn didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-1 defeat against Cuyahoga Heights on the 27th. Euclid has also already played their next game (against Cleveland Central Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
