Volleyball Recap: Zoey Walsh's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Davis over Farmington

Davis was the 3-1 winner over Farmington when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Darts fell just short of the Phoenix by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Darts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Davis wouldn't go down easily and took Farmington into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The final score came out to 25-19, 14-25, 18-25, 25-15, 15-10.

Davis' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoey Walsh, who had 12 digs and one assist. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Donigan, who had 11 assists and six digs.

Farmington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylee Day, who had 26 assists and 11 digs. Day has been hot recently, having posted 21 or more assists the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ellie Schow, who had 18 digs and two aces.

Davis' record now sits at 7-14. As for Farmington, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-14.

Davis will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Syracuse at 5:00 p.m. on the 21st. As for Farmington, they have already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Skyline on the 10th.
