Recap: R.J. Reynolds Demons vs. Northwest Guilford Vikings
The R.J. Reynolds Demons were the 66-57 winner over the Northwest Guilford Vikings when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. R.J. Reynolds took a 67-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northwest Guilford. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why R.J. Reynolds lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Antoine Jones Jr.. Despite the final result, he scored 31 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. The game was Jones Jr.'s sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Truzy, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for R.J. Reynolds and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Northwest Guilford, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. R.J. Reynolds will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mount Tabor at 8:15 p.m. on December 15th. As for Northwest Guilford, they will head out on the road to face off against Randleman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
