Basketball Recap: Cedar Hill Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Cedar Hill picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They walked away with a 66-56 win over the Wylie East Raiders. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Raiders are ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cedar Hill's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Wylie East, they moved to 8-8 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Cedar Hill won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Humble at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Humble likes a good challenge. Wylie East and West Mesquite will round out the year against one another at at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
