Preview: Freire Charter Dragon vs. Kensington KENSINGTON TIGER

The Freire Charter Dragon and the Kensington KENSINGTON TIGER will face off at 3:15 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Freire Charter is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.

On Tuesday, Freire Charter earned a 45-34 win over Belmont Charter.

Freire Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ibrahim Mahmoud, who scored 19 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Abdul Lo, who scored nine points along with 16 rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, Kensington pushed their score all the way to 66 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Science Leadership Academy at Beeber.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jovan McCants, who scored 38 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Deanthony Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.

Freire Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Kensington, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Fans should be in for an exciting game on Thursday as the two teams are among the highest scoring teams in the league right now. Freire Charter hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 53.2 points per game. However, it's not like Kensington struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 56.4 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.

Freire Charter was able to grind out a solid victory over Kensington when the teams last played back in January of 2020, winning 69-60. Does Freire Charter have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kensington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
