Auburn faced Smiths Station in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers. Considering Auburn have won 11 matchups by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Auburn's third in a row) raised their record to 16-3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Smiths Station, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-5.

Auburn has already played their next contest, a 7-2 win against Thompson on the 25th. As for Smiths Station, they will take on Montgomery Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery Academy's last five matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
