Basketball Recap: Lewistown Comes Up Short

Lewistown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. The match between them and the Illini West Chargers didn't end well, with the Lewistown Indians falling 43-29. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-20 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Lewistown lost, don't look at Abigail Johnson. Despite the final result, she went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in points.

Lewistown's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Illini West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-12.

Lewistown has already played their next contest, a 69-38 victory against Seymour on the 3rd. As for Illini West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-6 win against West Prairie on the 30th.
