Basketball Recap: Onalaska Piles Up the Points Against Boling

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Onalaska walked away with it. They took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 89-58 win over the Boling Bulldogs. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 contests by 26 points or more this season.

Onalaska's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Patrick Roth led the charge by going 7-for-14 to rack up 18 points along with seven steals and six boards. Roth continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Devon Vienneau was another key player, shooting 5-for-9 from deep and dropping a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Onalaska smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 35 consecutive games.

Onalaska pushed their record up to 30-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.6 points. As for Boling, their loss dropped their record down to 19-8.

Looking ahead, Onalaska will face off against Pollok Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pollok Central will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Onalaska surely won't give up without a fight. Boling does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
