Baseball Game Preview: Anderson Prep Academy Jets vs. Muncie Burris Owls

The Anderson Prep Academy Jets will head out to take on the Muncie Burris Owls at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Anderson Prep Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Breydon Ball was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Fort Wayne Canterbury hit Muncie Burris with a four-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Owls came up short against the Cavaliers, falling 10-4.

Nicolas Bontzek was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Bontzek was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Bontzek wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dane Adams, who went 2-for-4 with one run. Cameron Milleman also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Anderson Prep Academy's record now sits at 0-6. As for Muncie Burris, their record is now 3-7.

Anderson Prep Academy's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Jets have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Muncie Burris, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Anderson Prep Academy continue to outrun the ball?

Anderson Prep Academy took their win against Muncie Burris in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
