Football Recap: Shorecrest Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Shorecrest extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They were outmatched by the Shorewood Stormrays and fell 49-19. The Scots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stormrays apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Cade Nevens threw for 39 yards and one touchdown.

As for Shorewood, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.2 points on average over those games.

A big part of Shorewood's win came down to the chemistry between Kyson Vanee and his top target Finn Bachler. Vanee threw for 298 yards and four TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes while Bachler gained 155 total yards. Those four passing touchdowns gave Vanee a new career-high.

Shorecrest didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 33-27 victory against Marysville Getchell on the 30th. As for Shorewood, they have also already played their next contest, a 17-14 win against Mount Vernon on the 31st.
