Baseball Recap: Valley Union Triumphs

Valley Union won the last time they faced Duncan and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Blue Devils walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Wildkats.

Steven Delacruz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Valley Union is 5-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-3 otherwise. Delacruz was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Delacruz wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Mitchell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Valley Union's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Duncan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.
