Softball Recap: Chardon Hilltoppers vs. Berea-Midpark Titans
Chardon lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Berea-Midpark, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Hilltoppers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Titans a 12-0 shutout on Tuesday. This was payback for the Hilltoppers, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Gwen Boyle was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Tatum Carpenter also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Chardon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Chardon's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Berea-Midpark, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.
Coming up, Chardon will head out on the road to face off against Kenston at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Berea-Midpark, they will be playing at home against Steele at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
