Basketball Recap: Murrieta Mesa Takes a Loss

Murrieta Mesa suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against the Saguaro Sabercats, falling 84-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (55), the Rams still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Murrieta Mesa still got an impressive performance from Zach Macdonald, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kian Hendricks, who posted eight points.

Pierce Harrington was the offensive standout of the game as he went 6 of 10 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. Javin Blacks was another key player, putting up 11 points and four blocks.

Murrieta Mesa has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Saguaro, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Murrieta Mesa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-46 win against Simi Valley on the 28th. As for Saguaro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-62 victory against Aliso Niguel on the 28th.
