University City and Scripps Ranch are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The victory continues a trend for the Centurions in their matchups with the Cavers: they've now won four in a row.
Melia Galvan spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Addyson Weathers and Samantha Weathers did most of the damage at the plate: Addyson scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Samantha scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Samantha a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Castillo, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
University City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Diego only posted a batting average of .174.
Meanwhile, Scripps Ranch entered their game against Academy of Our Lady of Peace on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Falcons lost 10-4 to the Pilots. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Falcons have suffered since April 12, 2024.
Sienna Cole made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3.
University City's win bumped their record up to 5-9-1. As for Scripps Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
