Softball Game Preview: Waldron Bulldogs vs. Dardanelle Sand Lizards

Waldron hasn't had much luck against Dardanelle recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Sand Lizards at 4:30 p.m. Dardanelle took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Waldron, who comes in off a win.

Waldron headed into their last contest having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Mount Ida let them put that streak behind them. The Bulldogs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Lions a 17-0 shutout on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Kenlee Henry made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Henry was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karis Pritchard, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Chloe Richmond was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Dardanelle's offense. They lost 10-0 to Pottsville on Friday.

Waldron's win bumped their record up to 2-13. As for Dardanelle, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
