Basketball Recap: Plainview Comes Up Short

Plainview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They took a blow against the West Holt Huskies, falling 57-17. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Plainview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Riley Miller posted four points in addition to 11 rebounds and four blocks. Miller is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted three or more in the last three games she's played.

Plainview's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for West Holt, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Plainview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-31 defeat against Wynot on the 24th. As for West Holt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-22 victory against Boyd County on the 23rd.
