Recap: Center Point Pirates vs. Agua Dulce Longhorns
The Center Point Pirates and the Agua Dulce Longhorns squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Center Point Pirates had to settle for second. Center Point was just a hair shy of victory and fell 42-41 to Agua Dulce. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Agua Dulce found their leader in underclassman Lane Ranly, who rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 311 yards and three touchdowns while completing 82.8% of his passes. Benny Espinoza did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 146 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Center Point's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Agua Dulce, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Center Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Agua Dulce is on the road again on Friday and play against Chilton. Chilton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Agua Dulce likes a good challenge.
