Basketball Recap: Arlington Catholic Comes Up Short

Arlington Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the St. Mary's Spartans 82-47. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Spartans are ranked 22nd).

Arlington Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for St. Mary's, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Arlington Catholic Cougars challenge the Cardinal Spellman Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cardinal Spellman knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Arlington Catholic likes a good challenge. St. Mary's has already played their next matchup, a 73-56 victory against Monomoy on the 1st.
