South Florence put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They never let the Hartsville Red Foxes get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Red Foxes: they've now won three in a row.

Not much got past Payton Perry, who gave up just seven hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Hartsville off the board. Perry has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Page White, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Black, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

South Florence's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.33 hits in those games compared to only 5.18 in the others. As for Hartsville, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

South Florence and Hartsville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. South Florence (ranked 29th) will meet Crestwood (ranked 133rd) on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hartsville will face off against Dillon at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday up 113 places (26 vs. 139).
