Softball Recap: Lemoore Triumphs

Lemoore hadn't done well against Tulare Union recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Tigers came out on top against the Tribe by a score of 7-2. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Tribe on April 4th, they had to take a 12-3 defeat.

Isabelle Hendrickson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off nine hits. Hendrickson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alliyah Rodriguez, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Pommerening, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Lemoore and bumps their season record up to 5-16-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Tulare Union, they moved to 13-11 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Lemoore will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mission Oak at 4:30 p.m. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Tulare Union, they will head out on the road to challenge Hanford at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tribe are facing the Bullpups at the right time seeing as the Bullpups are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
